"Streetcar to Justice" Has a Promising, Early Start
October 19, 2017
I'm having a good week! My next book, Streetcar to Justice, was called "a book that belongs in any civil rights library collection" by Publisher's Weekly magazine in a starred review! At the same time I learned from my editor that the book is a Junior Library Guild selection.Yay!
The book won't be published until January 2 but the pre-orders by bookstores and individuals are excellent. Strong pre-orders are important to a book's success.
"Streetcar" tells the little-known story of Elizabeth Jennings, whose refusal to leave a segregated streetcar in pre-Civil War Manhattan set into motion a significant court case in New York City.
